DuBois Busted Arrest Paths
DuBois City Police patrols the city around the clock. The department logs over 11,000 calls for service in a typical year, though that figure counts calls, not bookings. An arrest inside city limits usually starts here. But state police from the DuBois station, or another agency, can also work an incident in the wider area. Which office made the arrest matters. That office keeps the incident report, while the holding facility keeps custody details and often the booking record itself.
Someone lodged locally most likely lands at Clearfield County Prison, 115 Twenty First Street in Clearfield. Call 814-765-7891 to ask about current custody. Location is not guaranteed, though. Transfers, outside-agency arrests, or other holds can move a person elsewhere. The prison answers the where-is-he-now question within whatever limits it applies. The arresting agency, in turn, can point you to its records custodian.
DuBois sits in Clearfield County as its largest incorporated city. The 2020 Census put the population at 7,510. Its size and spot on the map pull in several agencies, so the record trail often forks. A search result showing only the word DuBois tells you nothing firm. It won't say which officer made the arrest, where booking happened, or whether a case reached court. Verify each piece separately.
Where DuBois Busted Records Appear
DuBois posts no official daily arrest log. No short-window police bulletin exists. There is no searchable county roster and no official display of roster photos. What you get instead are separate channels, and each one answers a single question. Police and prison contacts work best. They are the actual agency and custody routes. News stories and older third-party pages can supply leads, but neither shows current custody, current charges, or a case outcome.
| Channel | Photo or record | Status | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| DuBois City Police | Department-held incident records; photo availability is record-specific | Official | Ask for the current records or AORO route for a city arrest. |
| Clearfield County Prison | Current custody by staff inquiry; no public roster photo display verified | Official | Call about present custody, transfer, and the correct booking-record custodian. |
| PSP press releases | Selected preliminary incident details, usually no booking photo | Official | Check a PSP-handled DuBois-area incident, then confirm through the agency or court. |
| UJS Case Search | Docket events and disposition, not a jail portrait | Official | Review filed charges, bail, hearings, and the outcome. |
| GANT and local news | Selected narratives and occasional agency-supplied images | News, not a feed | Use the agency, date, and case details to find an official record. |
| Mugshots.com county index | Historical entries and city labels | Unofficial and stale-prone | Do not use it to establish current DuBois custody or a disposition. |
Start with the source itself. The official DuBois Police page covers the city department and how to reach it. It does not post a booking log. Treat it as a contact point rather than a search tool for DuBois busted records.
The city source names the agency that routes a report request. What it does not offer is a live booking list or booking photographs of any kind.
Note: A missing web entry carries no fixed meaning, because Clearfield County publishes no roster schedule or retention window.
Find a DuBois Booking
Treat a DuBois name lookup as a short chain of checks. It is not one online search. There is no public county roster or same-day feed. So start with facts that pin down the event itself. For the fuller county method, including what to do without a roster, see Clearfield County booking and custody records.
- Write down the full name, approximate age or date of birth, arrest date, municipality, and arresting agency. Add a booking number or incident number if one is known.
- Call Clearfield County Prison at 814-765-7891 and ask whether the person is there now, was transferred, or should be checked with another custodian. Staff may limit what they disclose.
- Contact DuBois City Police when the arrest was city-police work. For a PSP matter, use the PSP release and station information instead of assigning the record to the city department.
- Search the official UJS Case Search with the name and, when available, complaint or incident number, OTN, docket number, date, and the appropriate court filter.
- Use a narrow written RTKL request if a retained booking record, report, or releasable photo is needed. Name the likely custodian and ask it to identify another custodian if it holds no responsive record.
PA SAVIN sends custody-change alerts for eligible county-jail inmates. Release, transfer, and escape notices are its job. It is not a current-arrest feed, and it hands out no booking photos. Someone who left county custody for a state sentence belongs in the PA DOC inmate locator, not in a DuBois booking search. Federal or immigration custody is different again. Those cases go to the federal or immigration custodian, never the city police or county prison.
DuBois Police Records Requests
Ask before you file anything. Request the current records route or the Agency Open Records Officer from DuBois City Police. The department page lists no booking-photo fee and promises no response time. For a police-held record, be specific. Give the person's name, the incident date and location, a report or case number if you have one, and the exact record you want. County-jail booking records and photos go to the county custodian instead. A police report and a jail intake file are not the same thing.
- State that the request concerns an existing DuBois police record, then give the incident date, location, person, and any report number so the department can identify the file.
- Ask the department to identify its current AORO, the submission method, and any fee estimate. Do not assume an after-hours number is a records line.
- For a booking file or photograph, send the request to the prison or other actual custodian and ask for any non-exempt portion if a record is withheld in part.
Prison-held material takes the county Right-to-Know request form. Confirm the current AORO through the Office of Open Records search. A well-built request can ask for the booking date and time, the arresting agency, charges as recorded at booking, the booking number, custody or transfer status, and a booking photograph if it exists and can be released. Pennsylvania law generally forces an RTKL answer within five business days. A lawful written extension can stretch that. Some material may be withheld or blacked out: criminal-investigative files, juvenile records, sealed items, medical details, and safety or security information.
No local photo fee or fixed turnaround is published anywhere. Ask the responding custodian to state any duplication, certification, postage, or media cost up front. Each photo request gets decided record by record. A friendly city contact helps nothing, and a missing public feed blocks nothing.
DuBois Busted News Sources
GANT's Police Blotter pulls together local police news better than anyone else around DuBois. One week it might carry a county agency's report. The next could bring PSP activity, sheriff work, or something from a nearby town. A story could mention a citation, a warrant pickup, a lodging at the prison, or a later court date. Remember what you are reading, though. This is news coverage of selected incidents, not a full arrest roster. The Courier-Express adds DuBois-area reporting. Pennsylvania State Police releases cover incidents PSP chooses to publicize, and those releases are preliminary and limited rather than a booking stream. ExploreClarion sometimes picks up a regional case as well. When a story gives you a name, date, or case number, treat those as leads. Take them to the prison, the arresting agency, or UJS rather than as the final word.
The Clearfield County Mugshots.com index files the city under both "Du Bois" and "Dubois." That alone tells you something. The listings are dated, unofficial, and far from complete. A label does not mean city police made the bust. For wider coverage of local incidents, see Clearfield County Crime News. Note: One agency-supplied photo in a news article does not create a public DuBois booking-photo archive or confirm that anyone is still in custody.
DuBois Arrest Agency Check
Why check multiple agencies? A DuBois arrest can cross city, county, and state-police lines, so no single office holds the whole file. City police keep the incident report. PSP DuBois may hold the release and case details. Clearfield County Prison can confirm whether someone is lodged there right now. But if the arresting authority or the hold sits elsewhere, the record may belong to a different jail, a state facility, or a federal one.
Timing matters too. A person booked yesterday sits in county custody; someone released weeks ago will not show up in a jail inquiry. State sentences move a person out of the county booking channel entirely and into PA DOC records. The public UJS docket links a filed case to arraignment, bail, hearings, plea, sentence, and other events. It will not hand you a booking photo.
Name searches often return several matches. Use the complaint or incident number, OTN, date, municipality, and issuing court to sort them out. Clearfield County does have a DuBois Magisterial District Court, but the court handling a case is not always the one nearest the arrest.
DuBois Busted Case Outcomes
Where does a case go from the booking sheet? Charges in a police release or news story are only the start. They can be amended. They can be withdrawn, dismissed, resolved by plea, or tried. The official UJS docket tracks each step and shows the final disposition. "Held for court" is one status you may see along the way.
Sometimes a court record is sealed or expunged. Sometimes it is simply unavailable. An old third-party listing tells you nothing on its own. A missing docket entry doesn't either. So do not read meaning into the gap. The Clearfield County Clerk of Courts handles certified court records and filing details. Keep in mind that a court record, an arrest report, and a prison record each answer a different question.
